Special Collections & Archives Digital Library Collections
The University of Waterloo Library's Special Collections & Archives holds early editions and rare books, collections of archives and manuscripts, and other material that requires special care and handling because of its early publication date, association interest, physical condition, aesthetic value, or unusual format.
- William Dendy fonds
- The William Dendy fonds consists of materials documenting Dendy's life and career as an architectural historian. It includes university course notes, research material for published works, research material on the history of Canadian architecture and other research interests such as Forest Hill, Hamilton, the architects Frank Darling and William Somerville, and the Massey family. Some materials relate to Dendy's teaching activities, Toronto walking tours and consultancy projects. See the William Dendy fonds finding aids for more information.
- Women's domestic work advertisements collection
- The Women's domestic work advertisements collection consists of advertisements, primarily from the Victorian era, showing the role of women in the household and the defining gender roles of the period. Also included are 4 items from the mid 20th century that speak to the changing and expanding role of women at the time. See the Women's domestic work advertisements collection finding aid for more information.
- Women's roles videos
- The Women's roles videos collection contains digitized silent film reels, which portray women in various domestic and working roles. Each film is accompanied by a description created by students in the Fall 2017 session of Women's Studies 101 as part of a class project to make the films more accessible.
