Ballot Burning [Published]

Photo caption that accompanied 53-4392_002 and photo missing from envelope: "BURN BALLOTS - Kitchener's City Hall was heated by ballots from the Dec. 3 election yesterday. The 93 polling boxes were opened and their contents "cremated" in the furnace. Gordon Scharlach, assistant city clerk, found the 93 keys required to open the boxes a heavy load (left photo) [see 53-4392_001 for closes version]. Edward Beitz (right) [53-4392_002] stuffs ballots into furnace."
